MESSAGE FROM CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

In this, our first year of operation, we have given priority to setting ourselves clear objectives and a distinctive “Vision and Mission”, to make sure that we will have a sustainable funding base, clear criteria for providing assistance and open and transparent procedures.

 

With this foundation in place, we have made a gradual start to funding or contributing to carefully selected activities. We have donated to and worked with organizations such as Orbis; Care Action; the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council; Camp Quality Hong Kong; HKU SPACE and the Child Development Matching Fund. Highlights of the year have included sponsoring the Hong Kong Special Olympics Organization, funding the 2013 Graduation Screening Ceremony of the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts and donating much needed medical equipment to the Guangzhou City Police Welfare Fund.

 

Through the Por Yen King Yin Lei Foundation Limited, our subsidiary, we also put forward a proposal to the Government for the maintenance of the important King Yin Lei Mansion heritage site. This project remains unawarded so far, but we intend to pursue our interest in promoting and assisting in heritage conservation.

 

I am honoured to be working with our Chairman, Mr. Lester Lam Hau Yin, our fellow directors, Mr. Tsui Yuk Kit and Mr. Edward Wan and our Corporate Affairs Officer, Miss Juliet Lee in putting the Foundation onto a successful footing. I hope that you will take time to look through our website, and come forward with ideas, financial support and suggestions for our future activities.
